“Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”

1 Peter 5:8-9

Stay alert and clear-minded because the devil actively wants to destroy you. First, submit to God. Then resist the devil with spiritual power because you are in a spiritual battle. So fight with the spiritual weapon of the filling of His Holy Spirit to win the battle!

Do you know how simple it is to be filled with the Holy Spirit to resist temptation? Repent. Ask. Surrender. In that order. How can you remember to get back into a relationship with God, remember to ask God, and remember to surrender your will moment by moment?
