INTERVIEW
MAY EPISODES
Are we caring for the most vulnerable? Nick Vujicic interviews Josh and Rebekah Weigel who are both film makers and adoptive parents. Their newest film “Possum Trot” will be featuring a small church community where 22 families adopted 77 children. Churches are beginning to step up in their responsibility to care for orphans in the foster care system.
Never Chained Talk Show: Nick Vujicic interviews Melissa Cosby about Foster/Adoption System. She leads the multi-faceted initiatives of Lifeline Children’s Services in Texas and is a pregnancy counselor in the DFW area. In this interview Melissa discusses the challenges and issues of the Foster and Adoption system in the USA.

During Episode 109 of the Never Chained Talk Show Nick sits down with an old friend to talk about fulfilling God’s calling on her life. Rebekah Weigel and her husband Josh are known for their multi-award winning short film, Butterfly Circus.
But the world of Hollywood was not the only passion God put on the Weigel’s hearts. Seeing the need within the foster system, Rebekah and Josh began to explore the world of fostering and adopting. Hearing the story of 20 families in the small East Texas town of Possum Trot and their mission to adopt 76 toughest children in the foster system, Rebekah and Josh were inspired to create a short film on this incredible true story of what being the Church truly looks like.
As a part of our 2022 Champions for the Brokenhearted campaign, Nick will interview world experts on a new topic each month. As they share powerful stories from their experiences working on the front lines, they highlight the ways each of us can get involved to empower our families and communities as champions.

MESSAGE FROM NICK
MAY GOSPEL MESSAGES
In this special message to those who are in the foster care system, Nick reminds those who feel alone and unwanted that God is your ultimate Father who has a plan for you. God’s heart is to adopt each of us as his own children. In Psalm 68, verses 5 through 6 it says that he is “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing.”

In part 2 of Champions for the Orphan Nick shares a message to families, parents, or individuals who have a heart to care for orphans and foster children. In Scripture, we are called to defend the fatherless and to look after the orphan and the widow. Psalm 82, verse 3 tells us to, “Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.”
This is a picture of God’s heart for us as believers as He calls us to be the church.
